Haaland Admits Poor Form: 'I Haven't Been Good Enough'
Erling Haaland acknowledges his recent struggles after Manchester City's defeat to Aston Villa, highlighting poor stats in recent matches.
Erling Haaland, Manchester City's star striker, has admitted to being far from his best after his team’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa. This marks the third consecutive match in which Haaland has failed to score.
The Norwegian forward, who leads the Premier League in goals this season, has shown uncharacteristically poor stats in his last three games against Juventus, Manchester United, and Aston Villa. In 270 minutes, he has managed just three shots, with only one on target, and has failed to complete a single dribble. Haaland has also lost possession 22 times and delivered just 19 successful passes.
Following the match, Haaland spoke to TNT Sports, saying, "I look at myself first. I haven’t played well enough or converted my chances. I need to improve; I haven’t been good enough."
Earlier in the season, Haaland had a stellar start, scoring ten goals in his first five games, including back-to-back hat-tricks against Ipswich Town and West Ham. However, his recent performances have raised concerns, both for City fans and the player himself.
