Saleh Al-Shehri, a key forward for Saudi Arabia, has been sidelined from the Gulf Cup following an injury sustained during training, leaving the team without a crucial goal scorer for upcoming matches.
The Saudi Arabian national football team has announced that forward Saleh Al-Shehri has been withdrawn from the squad for the Gulf Cup due to an injury sustained during Monday morning's training session. The team's official account on Platform X confirmed this development. According to Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, the team is unable to replace Al-Shehri in the squad, having already utilized the substitution allowance by adding Marwan Al-Sahafi in place of the injured Firas Al-Buraikan prior to the tournament's commencement. Injuries have plagued several key Saudi players, including defender Abdulelah Al-Amri and midfielder Abdullah Al-Khaibari, both of whom were excluded from the roster. Saudi Arabia began their Gulf Cup campaign with a 3-2 loss to Bahrain and is preparing to face Yemen and Iraq in the upcoming matches.
