Kosovo Tank Vedat Muriqi on Mourinho’s Radar
José Mourinho eyes Vedat Muriqi as a winter transfer target for Fenerbahçe, amid rising chances of Youssef En-Nesyri's departure.
José Mourinho, the Portuguese coach of Fenerbahçe, is reportedly interested in signing Vedat Muriqi, nicknamed the 'Kosovo Tank,' as a replacement for Youssef En-Nesyri. En-Nesyri is being linked with a lucrative offer from Al-Nassr, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays.
According to Portuguese outlet 'O Jogo,' Fenerbahçe is prepared to offer €10 million to Mallorca for Muriqi. The 30-year-old striker has previously played for Fenerbahçe, scoring 17 goals in 36 matches during the 2019–2020 season, a performance that earned him a €21 million move to Lazio.
Muriqi has continued to shine at Mallorca, becoming the team's top scorer. Notably, he has scored against Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, earning a reputation as a 'giant killer.' With Mallorca set to face Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup semi-finals, it remains uncertain whether they will let go of their star player in the January transfer window.
Fenerbahçe, currently second in the Turkish league and eight points behind Galatasaray, views Muriqi as a crucial addition to bolster their European and domestic campaigns.
