Vlahovic Named Serbia’s Footballer of the Year 2024
Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has been crowned Serbia's Footballer of the Year, surpassing Aleksandar Mitrovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Dusan Vlahovic, the prolific Juventus striker, has been officially named the Serbian Footballer of the Year for 2024. The announcement came just hours before Juventus’s Coppa Italia clash against Cagliari, where Vlahovic’s performance again proved decisive.
The Serbian Football Federation revealed the award via their official Instagram page, and Vlahovic shared the news with his fans, posting a story ahead of the game. His contributions have been significant for both club and country, making him a standout candidate for the prestigious honor.
Last season, Vlahovic featured in 33 Serie A matches, scoring 16 goals and providing 4 assists. This season, he has continued his strong form, netting 7 goals in 14 league appearances so far.
Vlahovic beat out strong competition, including Serbian stars Aleksandar Mitrovic of Al-Hilal and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Meanwhile, Vladan Milojevic, the head coach of Red Star Belgrade, was named Serbia’s Best Manager of the Year following the club's campaign in the UEFA Champions League.
This is the first time Vlahovic has won the Serbian Footballer of the Year award, a testament to his rising profile and exceptional performances in European football.
