Sakho Praises Georgian League and His Move

Mamadou Sakho, the former Liverpool defender, has declared his move to the Georgian league as a satisfying decision, emphasizing the growth and quality of football in the region. After a year away from the pitch, Sakho joined Torpedo Kutaisi, surprising many with his choice.

"My family and I are very happy here. The club atmosphere and my relationship with teammates from around the world, including players from Brazil, Norway, and Serbia, have been great. Despite a recent injury, I look forward to the new season starting in January," Sakho explained.

When asked why he chose the Georgian league, Sakho revealed, "It was a family decision. My wife and kids came earlier, and they were amazed by the hospitality of the people. Georgia reminds me of Albania, and the living conditions are excellent, which has made us very happy with this choice."

Sakho also highlighted the league's quality, mentioning that players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia emerged from Georgia, proving the league's potential as a talent incubator.
