Valencia President Accuses Media of Targeting the Club

Lim Hoon Chan, the Singaporean president of Valencia, has publicly accused the media of orchestrating a deliberate campaign to harm the club. Speaking during a shareholders' meeting, Chan expressed frustration with what he described as constant negative portrayals of Valencia in Spanish media.

"The media is painting a relentlessly dark picture of Valencia," Chan said. "Every event or situation at the club is framed as a catastrophe. Why don’t they recognize the positive changes and efforts we’ve made?"

Valencia's men’s and women’s teams currently sit at the bottom of their respective league tables, adding to the scrutiny. However, Chan emphasized that the media has ignored significant improvements under his tenure, focusing solely on setbacks.

During his speech, Chan hinted that he might consider stepping down if he feels he is no longer beneficial to the club. "If I ever conclude that I am not helping the club, I will resign," he said, adding a jab at his critics: "I’m sure this is what you’ve been waiting for."

Chan also claimed that an alliance has formed within Spain, aiming to destabilize Valencia further, asserting that these forces have tasked the media with exaggerating the club’s struggles.
