Carragher: Rashford Wouldn't Benefit Arsenal
Jamie Carragher, former Liverpool midfielder, asserts that Marcus Rashford's potential move to Arsenal wouldn't enhance the team's performance, questioning his current form and impact.
Jamie Carragher, the former Liverpool midfielder, has expressed skepticism about the potential transfer of Marcus Rashford to Arsenal, suggesting that the Manchester United forward may not significantly enhance the Gunners' squad.
Following Rashford's omission from the lineup in the recent Manchester derby, the 27-year-old hinted at seeking a new challenge away from Old Trafford. Despite his upbringing through United's academy, Rashford appears open to exploring opportunities elsewhere.
However, Carragher questions the suitability of Rashford for top European clubs, including Arsenal. He remarked, "I've seen reports linking Rashford with clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain. This is Marcus Rashford... Am I missing something? He can't secure a starting spot at United and isn't in the England squad."
When fellow pundit Gary Neville inquired if Rashford could aid Arsenal's progression, Carragher responded, "Rashford? No! Oh my God, during United's good spell, he had a four-month period under Erik ten Hag where he performed well. He's been a good player for United and the Premier League, but he's not on the level of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, or Bukayo Saka."
