Trent's Goal: I Want to Leave My Legacy
Trent Alexander-Arnold reflects on his journey with Liverpool and emphasizes his ambition to build a lasting legacy as one of the greatest right-backs in football.
Trent Alexander-Arnold feels that having won all major trophies during his time at Liverpool, he is now playing to build his legacy at the club.
The second captain of the Reds, who has been part of the first team since 2016 under Jurgen Klopp, stated that at 26 years of age, he is already thinking about how his career will be perceived in the long run.
Speaking to the program 'Men in Blazers,' Alexander-Arnold said: “Of course, I think about winning more trophies in the future, but on a personal level, it’s about building a legacy. This is what matters: to be remembered with the utmost respect after my career ends.”
He added, “I want to make sure that in 10 or 15 years, people look back and think of me as one of the greatest, if not the best, right-back. That’s what I’m playing for now, and I use that as motivation.”
When asked if being from Liverpool makes him feel the game’s atmosphere more intensely, he responded, “I’m not sure because I don’t have anything to compare it to. But as a fan who has grown up with this club, I feel the emotions of the game deeply. My friends and family are all passionate supporters, so maybe I see it more than other players.”
