Sergio Conceicao Appointed as AC Milan's New Head Coach

AC Milan has announced the appointment of Sergio Conceicao as the new head coach of their men's first team, with a contract extending until June 30, 2026. This decision comes shortly after the club parted ways with Paulo Fonseca due to a series of unsatisfactory results that left Milan in eighth place in Serie A, trailing 14 points behind the leaders.

Conceicao, aged 50, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record from his tenure at FC Porto, where he secured three Primeira Liga titles, four Portuguese Cups, one League Cup, and three Super Cups. His leadership also guided Porto to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, highlighting his capability on Europe's grand stage.

His inaugural challenge with AC Milan is imminent, as the team is scheduled to face Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana semifinal on January 3 in Saudi Arabia. Notably, this match could see Conceicao opposing his son, Francisco Conceicao, who is currently on loan at Juventus from Porto.

AC Milan's management and supporters are optimistic that Conceicao's appointment will reinvigorate the squad's performance, aiming for a swift return to the upper echelons of Italian football and securing qualification for European competitions in the forthcoming seasons.
