Contrary to initial expectations, Hansi Flick, the head coach of Barcelona, has implemented a demanding training schedule as 2025 begins. Players will forgo the anticipated New Year's break to engage in intensive preparations for the forthcoming Copa del Rey fixture against Barbastro.
Initially, it was presumed that the squad would enjoy a respite on January 1st to celebrate the New Year with their families. However, Flick has revised the training itinerary, scheduling a session on January 1st at 5:00 PM local time at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training complex.
Consequently, the team will have no rest days leading up to the January 4th match against Barbastro. They are set to undergo four consecutive training sessions to ensure optimal readiness for the Copa del Rey encounter.
According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, the training agenda is as follows:
- December 31st: Morning session at 10:00 AM.
- January 1st: Afternoon session at 5:00 PM.
- January 2nd and 3rd: Morning sessions commencing at 11:00 AM.
As customary, the initial 15 minutes of the January 3rd session will be open to media coverage. Following this practice, Hansi Flick is scheduled to conduct the first press conference of 2025, focusing on the Copa del Rey match against the fourth-division side, Barbastro.
