Sergio Conceicao Vows to Transform AC Milan into a Winning Team

Sergio Conceicao, recently appointed as AC Milan's head coach following the departure of compatriot Paulo Fonseca, has expressed his commitment to revitalizing the team's fortunes. In his inaugural interview, Conceicao acknowledged the challenges ahead, with Milan currently eighth in Serie A, trailing the leaders by 14 points.

Conceicao stated, 'I am honored to embark on this adventure. Emotions are fleeting because we have work to do. We need a warm heart and a cool mind to perform at our best and win games. This is what we want. We represent a globally significant club and must be worthy of it.'

He continued, 'We don't have much time and a lot of work to do. This is absolutely not an excuse, but I must make the most of the time available to ensure the players understand what needs to be done.'

Emphasizing the necessity for a strong mentality and organization, Conceicao added, 'There is no other option; a lot of work must be done with the team. With good organization and the players' quality, we will achieve great things this year. Words are just words; I must prove myself with results. To do this, we need hard work from everyone, not just the players but also the staff who make Milanello what it is.'

Conceicao concluded with a message to the fans: 'We are here to work. What I want to tell the fans is that we will work hard and become a winning team, deserving of this great club.'

Conceicao's first match in charge will be in the Italian Super Cup semi-final against Juventus on January 3, followed by his Serie A debut as Milan's manager at home against Cagliari on January 11.
