Portuguese Footballer Ruben Semedo Arrested for Domestic Violence
Ruben Semedo, Portuguese footballer currently playing for Al-Khor in Qatar, has been arrested on charges of domestic violence after allegedly imprisoning and assaulting his wife.
Ruben Semedo, a Portuguese international footballer, was arrested early yesterday morning on charges of domestic violence. The 29-year-old, who currently plays for Al-Khor in Qatar, is accused of imprisoning and physically assaulting his wife.
According to reports, Semedo's wife managed to escape and reached a police station, presenting visible signs of physical abuse. She informed the authorities that her husband had confined her and subjected her to severe physical violence. Subsequently, police officers arrested Semedo at his residence around 3 a.m.
Semedo's lawyer addressed the media, stating, 'Ruben is devastated by this incident and is fully cooperating with the court. He is exhausted and has no strength left.'
The victim was transported to a hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. The Portuguese prosecutor's office has confirmed Semedo's arrest, and an investigation is underway.
Semedo has a history of legal issues, including previous arrests related to violent incidents. This latest accusation adds to a troubling pattern of behavior that has overshadowed his football career.
