Ruben Dias: Manchester City Must Return to Basics
Defender Ruben Dias emphasizes the importance of Manchester City returning to fundamental principles to overcome recent challenges and regain form.
Manchester City defender Ruben Dias has called for the team to return to their fundamental principles to navigate through recent challenges. Ahead of the Champions League match against Juventus, Dias acknowledged the team's current difficulties and stressed the importance of unity and resilience.
"It's clear that it's important and difficult for us," Dias stated. "Sometimes you face obstacles you didn't expect, and there's only one way forward: believe in yourself, stay consistent, and see the light."
Reflecting on overcoming tough situations, he added, "This is exactly when you show your character; it's when you show who you are. I've always believed that in the hardest moments of life, you show your true colors. And the position we're in now is one of those moments. It's time to stay strong; it's time to go back to basics."
Dias emphasized the team's unity, describing them as a family: "We are a team, a group of players, but we are a family. In a family, we need a reason to run, and we need to keep the reason to stay together alive."
Addressing the team's approach, he noted, "Our method has always been the same; if we're at a good level, no one can stop us! It's clear that we don't have some important players; others are joining the squad, and injuries happen again. But we know that if we have all the players available, and even if not all are available, if we find our rhythm, we can be very, very dangerous."
