Ansu Fati Foregoes Christmas Break to Focus on Training

Ansu Fati skips Barcelona's Christmas break to enhance his fitness and regain form after a challenging season marred by injuries.

Ansu Fati Foregoes Christmas Break to Focus on Training

Ansu Fati, the young Barcelona forward, has chosen to forgo his Christmas holiday to focus on additional training sessions, aiming to regain his peak physical condition after a challenging start to the season.

Barcelona, led by Hansi Flick, granted players a break from December 23 to December 28. However, Fati requested extra training days during this period, which was welcomed by both Flick and the club's sporting director Deco. This decision demonstrates Fati’s commitment to overcoming recent setbacks.

Fati’s season began with high expectations following his return from a loan spell at Brighton. Unfortunately, a foot injury in July disrupted his preseason and prevented his participation in the U.S. tour. Although he recovered briefly, a muscle injury in November further sidelined him.

After receiving medical clearance last Friday, Fati was deemed unfit for Barcelona's recent match against Atletico Madrid. Determined to improve, he has enlisted the support of fitness trainers, physiotherapists, and doctors to guide his recovery during the Christmas period.

With a contract until 2027, Fati has only played in seven matches this season, starting in just one. His additional efforts during the break highlight his ambition to reestablish himself as a key player for Barcelona.
