The second leg of the Colombian Cup final, held in Cali between Atlético Nacional and América de Cali, was overshadowed by significant unrest both inside and outside the stadium. The match was halted in the 85th minute as América de Cali supporters attempted to storm the pitch, posing a threat to the safety of the players. At that moment, the score was tied at 0-0.
Clashes erupted between América de Cali fans and police forces near the sidelines and in the stands, resulting in multiple injuries among law enforcement personnel. The Colombian Football Federation reported that violent confrontations continued in the surrounding streets after the match.
To ensure their safety, Atlético Nacional players were escorted out of the stadium in a police armored vehicle. The match concluded in a goalless draw; however, with Atlético Nacional's 3-1 victory in the first leg, they were declared champions of the Colombian Cup.
