Hakim Ziyech Expresses Regret Over Joining Galatasaray
Moroccan star Hakim Ziyech has announced his intention to leave Galatasaray during the winter transfer window, citing dissatisfaction with his experience at the club.
Hakim Ziyech's tenure at Galatasaray appears to be nearing its end. After transferring from Ajax to Chelsea in 2020, Ziyech joined Galatasaray on loan in 2024, a move that was later made permanent. He celebrated a Turkish Super Lig title with the club last season. However, this season has been challenging, with reported conflicts between Ziyech and head coach Okan Buruk affecting his on-field performance. In recent weeks, he has faced criticism from both the media and fans.
In a candid interview, the Moroccan international stated his desire to depart: "Galatasaray is over for me; I have informed them that I will leave in January. They no longer question me, and I do as I please. I have never encountered a coach as bad as Okan Buruk. Can Galatasaray become champions? I don't care. Let me be in peace; whatever happens doesn't concern me. Since the beginning of the season, I have regretted coming here, but neither I nor they wanted me to leave in January. Now, the situation has changed."
