Barcelona Extends Montjuic Stay Amid Camp Nou Renovations
Barcelona announces it will continue playing at Montjuic until mid-February 2025 due to Camp Nou renovations, affecting La Liga and Champions League fixtures.
FC Barcelona has confirmed that renovations at Camp Nou will postpone the team's return to their historic home until at least mid-February 2025. This decision ensures compliance with UEFA regulations, which prohibit changing venues during Champions League group stages.
Key matches, including games against Valencia and Deportivo Alaves in La Liga, as well as a Champions League fixture against Atalanta, will take place at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic.
The club is targeting a return to Camp Nou for either the game against Rayo Vallecano on February 15-16 or a potential Champions League playoff on February 11-12. Season ticket holders will receive price adjustments for the extended stay at Montjuic.
Alternative venues like RCDE Stadium and Metropolitano Stadium were considered, but Barcelona opted to remain at Montjuic until Camp Nou is ready for use.
