Steven Bergwijn, the Dutch forward currently playing for Al-Ittihad, has unequivocally declared Lionel Messi as the greatest footballer in history. In a recent interview with Al-Ittihad's official media, Bergwijn stated, 'Without a doubt, Lionel Messi; there's no question, he is by far the best.'

Bergwijn, who is experiencing his first season in Saudi Arabian football with Al-Ittihad, also shared his positive impressions of the club's passionate fanbase and the welcoming environment in Saudi Arabia. He noted, 'Without a doubt, Al-Ittihad fans are the most passionate and always boost our energy on the field. You can see them even in our away games, supporting the team in large numbers.'

Regarding his adaptation to life in Saudi Arabia, Bergwijn mentioned, 'Although it's my first season with Al-Ittihad, I don't feel like a stranger in Saudi Arabia. I also enjoy wearing traditional Arabic attire because I find it appealing.'

Looking ahead to Saudi Arabia's hosting of the 2023 World Cup, Bergwijn expressed optimism, stating, 'I believe it will be one of the best tournaments in history. I've witnessed firsthand the rapid development of the necessary infrastructure.'
