Kleindienst Rejects Comparisons with Global Stars
Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Tim Kleindienst dismisses admiration for top strikers like Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé, emphasizing his own style and efforts.
Tim Kleindienst, the forward for Borussia Mönchengladbach, has made headlines with his recent comments about global football stars. In an interview with 'Bild,' he stated that he does not admire any of the world’s top strikers, including Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, or Vinícius Júnior, preferring to focus on his own game.
Kleindienst, who joined Gladbach this summer for €7 million from Heidenheim, has quickly established himself as a key player. With 14 goal contributions (9 goals, 5 assists) in 14 Bundesliga matches, his performances have earned him a place in Germany’s national team under Julian Nagelsmann.
When asked about comparisons with players like Kane, Giroud, or Mbappé, Kleindienst responded, "None of them are role models for me. We strikers all essentially do the same thing, but we have different ways of executing it. Of course, Kane’s finishing is incredible, and I can learn from his composure. But in some areas, like pressing and intensity, I believe I work harder because his teammates provide him with higher-quality opportunities."
Kleindienst also highlighted the competitive nature of Bundesliga strikers and his unique approach to contributing to his team's success, focusing on effort and teamwork.
