African Star Credits Pitso Mosimane for Financial Success
Former South African defender Siboniso Gaxa reveals how Pitso Mosimane’s advice helped him make smart investments early in his football career.
Siboniso Gaxa, a former defender for the South African national team, has shared how his former coach Pitso Mosimane guided him in managing his finances during his football career. Speaking on Radio 2000, Gaxa discussed his transition from football to business and education after recently earning an LLB degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Gaxa, who earned 54 caps for South Africa, emphasized the pivotal role Mosimane played in shaping his financial decisions during his playing days at SuperSport United. "When I was playing, I bought properties and paid for them in cash. I don’t know why I did it, but I followed good advice," Gaxa said. "Pitso would always tell me what was right, what was wrong, and what I should do. His guidance was invaluable."
The 41-year-old also revealed that he had owned up to five properties at one point, most of which were fully paid off, thanks to Mosimane’s counsel. Gaxa highlighted the importance of selectively listening to advice and using what resonates most.
"I take only the parts of advice that work for me. Pitso always helped in this regard, and I’m grateful for his mentorship," Gaxa concluded.
