Barcelona Risks Legal Strategy for Dani Olmo's Registration
Barcelona explores a legal pathway to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second half of La Liga, a move carrying significant risks.
Barcelona is taking a bold step by opting for a legal strategy to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor for the second half of the La Liga season. This decision was confirmed by club president Joan Laporta during a traditional luncheon with media representatives held on Tuesday at the Camp Nou auditorium.
Laporta revealed that Barcelona has filed a legal complaint seeking a temporary injunction to register the two players before the December 31 deadline. A court session is scheduled for December 23, with a ruling anticipated by December 27, just days before the January transfer window opens. This strategy was successfully utilized two seasons ago to register Gavi under similar circumstances, leading to a settlement with La Liga.
However, legal expert Agustin Amoros warned on Cadena SER that this approach is fraught with potential consequences. "Barcelona must be cautious, as an adverse ruling could result in irreparable damage, with the players missing significant matches," Amoros stated.
The club remains optimistic but acknowledges the stakes involved, emphasizing the importance of securing proper registrations to avoid disruptions in the upcoming fixtures.
