Barcelona Holds Key Meeting for Dani Olmo Registration
Barcelona intensifies legal and financial efforts to finalize Dani Olmo's contract ahead of the January transfer window, holding a critical meeting with his father and legal experts.
Barcelona is pushing forward with its efforts to officially register Dani Olmo as a new signing during the upcoming January transfer window. A pivotal meeting was held at the club's office, attended by Olmo's father, Mikel Olmo, and sports law expert Ramon Valencia.
The meeting, overseen by Barcelona president Joan Laporta, focused on exploring all legal avenues to resolve the registration challenges. Barcelona has already escalated the matter by filing a lawsuit against La Liga in the Barcelona Commercial Court, with a hearing scheduled for December 27. The club aims to secure a ruling that will enable them to register Olmo without complications.
Barcelona argues that La Liga's actions violate fundamental rights by restricting players from pursuing their professional careers. This legal strategy mirrors the one used successfully to register Gavi last season. Notably, the same judge who ruled in Barcelona's favor for Gavi's case is set to handle the Olmo hearing.
The club remains optimistic that a positive verdict will allow them to strengthen their squad as they prepare for the second half of the season.
