Vítor Pereira Appointed as Wolverhampton Wanderers Head Coach

Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the appointment of Vítor Pereira as their new head coach on an 18-month contract. The 56-year-old Portuguese manager joins Wolves after leaving Saudi Pro League club Al Shabab, with the Premier League side reportedly paying around £800,000 in compensation.

Pereira replaces Gary O'Neil, who was dismissed following a 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town, which left Wolves in 19th place in the Premier League with only nine points from 16 matches.

Wolves chairman Jeff Shi expressed confidence in Pereira's ability to guide the team out of the relegation zone, stating, 'Vítor is a highly respected and experienced coach who has achieved success across different leagues and will bring a new approach for the test ahead.'

Pereira's managerial career includes stints at FC Porto, where he won back-to-back Primeira Liga titles, and Olympiacos, where he secured the Greek Super League title. His first match in charge of Wolves is scheduled against Leicester City, a crucial fixture as the team aims to improve its standing in the league.
